Our beloved Chef Serena is the heart of Fetta Di Casa, without whom none of this would be possible.
Serena prides herself on her ability of bringing out the best flavours from local and seasonal produce and, of course, doing it the Italian way. From the age of 10, Serena was her mother’s apprentice in the kitchen – learning everything from cracking eggs to making her own pasta. She quickly found her passion and with her mother’s teachings, she soon graduated from patisserie school in Turin. Now, she’s one of the chefs at Kastner and Ovens by day and the soul of Fetta by night!
Not only does she prepare the most delicious Italian dishes in town, but she also brought the Fetta family together. Making the most of her Nonnas’ recipes, her Mamma’s cooking style, her Papa’s produce and her Fratello’s artistry and wealth of wine knowledge, it is thanks to her that we are able to offer Italian authenticity at every turn.
Serena’s naturally loving and hospitable nature embodies a lot of the Italian way of life and is the inspiration behind the Fetta Di Casa atmosphere. With sheer passion for life and an unquestioned devotion to family, this Italian darling brings warmth to the city even on the coldest of days. During our Casa Dining events, there is nothing Serena loves more than getting to know her guests and making them feel at home with family. In our eyes, she’s the hostess with the mostest!
Sous Chef & Expert Pot Washer
When Serena met Andy, she also found her soon-to-be sous chef, master taster and menu creator.
Andy is the indispensable support to Serena’s leadership in the cooking operations – with a particular talent when it comes to scrubbing pots and pans. He doesn’t complain as he also has the arduous role of tasting all our dishes first!
Andy and Serena love living in London and everything it has to offer, but they longed for the traditional Italian restaurant experience. Being greeted by the owners who would proudly present their capucuoco’s creations and family recipes, the hours and hours spent laughing and conversing with loved ones, and (of course) the generous portions of truly amazing food. Basically, the whole Italian shebang! This nostalgia and passion, complete with Andy’s business accumen meant that the stars aligned, and Fetta Di Casa was born.
Did we mention that Andy also brings a 50-year-old Limoncello recipe to the table? We just love to treat our guests to a shot of this Italian tradition at the end of all our Casa Dining events! And although he may not be Italian by blood, his heart is definitely in the right place. In fact, he’s a total Italian cuisine guru! He also studied quite a bit about French cuisine, but we’ve forgiven him for that.
The Wine Guy (Private Dining)
Chef Serena’s brother, Graziano is a fantastic designer and painter by trade as well as a superb wine sommelier by passion. Having been studying Oenology for many years and developing an expertise on Piedmontese wine, he now ensures that we match our private dinner menus with the perfect grape. If you wish to host a private dinner with beautiful wine, you can be sure Graziano will be on hand to guide you.
Love our logo? It was actually created by Chef Serena’s brother, Graziano! We believe that food and wine is not only a craft, but an art. So, when it came to coming up with a logo that represents our brand – we knew that we had to look no further than our own family.
So, if you’re not sure what wine to bring to your next Casa Dining event, let us know and we’ll ensure you get a pro tip! A talented artist and fountain of knowledge when it comes to selecting and savouring wine, Graziano we trust. In vino veritas!
